Subtitling begins…!

In June 2019, a committee comprising Bashé Nuhem (Qom, Argentina). David Hernández Palmar (Wayúu, Venezuela), Amalia Córdova (Mother Tongue Film Festival, Smithsonian, Washington DC) and myself worked on designing a Call for Submissions for a subtitling project with Indigenous films. Five works were selected to participate in the programme, an initiative which has emerged from the partnership with CLACPI, Mother Tongue Film Festival and the Audiovisual Translation workshop held in Chisec in October 2018 as part of FICMayab’.

We’re delighted to share the titles of the selected projects, which will now be translated and subtitled into English with expert consultancy from Elena Zini, from Screen Language, based in Edinburgh.
